Shipping & Returns

General Information

Despatch of the products ordered constitutes acceptance of the order and completion of the contract between the customer and Caravela Jewellery - unless the customer has previously been notified of the non-acceptance of the order, or the customer has cancelled the order before despatch.

The price the customer pays is the price displayed on the website in sterling at the time the order is received, UNLESS there has been a pricing error on the website, in which case the customer will be informed as soon as possible and given the option of reconfirming the order or cancelling. If the customer is unable to be contacted, the order will be deemed to be cancelled and a full refund will be given.

Despatch

It is our policy only to display on our website items that are currently in stock, and we do not display any items which have been discontinued or await restocking.

Orders placed before 1 pm are despatched same day, or if placed on a non-working day, then the following working day. Orders placed after 1 pm are despatched the next working day.

Shipping Address


As a general rule, we use the verified shipping address which has been supplied by the customer to PayPal or Credit Card Provider. We do not normally ship to unverified addresses therefore if there is a significant discrepancy between the shipping address and the billing address, we reserve the right to contact the customer usually by email or SMS to verify delivery details before despatch. This is to protect against fraud but also to ensure as far as possible that the goods reach the customer.

To minimise inconvenience, and the risk of delay, we ask customers to ensure that PayPal has their current billing and shipping address, and that this has been verified by PayPal. We take every precaution to ensure that your purchases reach you as safely and quickly as possible but please understand that we cannot be held liable for items going astray as a result of an incorrect or outdated address being supplied to PayPal.

Delivery Charges

Delivery charges are calculated automatically at checkout according to the options selected and country of destination.

UK delivery is currently 2.50 for order value up to 15. Delivery will be by Royal Mail First Class Post and should arrive within 1-2 days but please allow up to 5 working days.

For a limited period, we are offering FREE SHIPPING on orders over 15. If the total order amounts to more than 25, recorded delivery (signed for) first class post will be used but shipping will still be free. Both these methods are uninsured. If faster, insured delivery is required please select the Special Delivery option which costs 6.50. We recommend that customers should use this option for orders over 50.
Orders valued over 100 are sent Special Delivery free of charge.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS

Important: International transactions must be effected in pounds sterling (GBP), therefore the amount you will pay is dependent on the exchange rate prevailing at the time of the transaction. If another currency is used e.g. USD, then the transaction may be declined by Caravela Jewellery.

Europe (including Eire)

Caravela Jewellery ships to most countries in Europe and for a limited period only, we are offering the reduced shipping rate of 5.00 per order. If your country is not listed when you reach checkout, please contact us. Delivery usually takes between 5-7 working days. All prices on this website are VAT inclusive.

Rest of World

For Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, and the USA, we are offering a reduced rate of 6.00 per order for a limited period only. International orders are sent either International Signed For (airmail) or Airsure and a signature is usually required at the destination address. Delivery is usually effected within 7-10 working days. For any other country, please enquire. We do not ship to countries considered to be high risk.

Please note: in some cases, taxes and duties may be payable. It is the customer's responsibility to check with the appropriate authorities in their country whether such duties and taxes might apply as they vary from country to country - and sometimes within countries.

Christmas Deliveries

Towards Christmas, deliveries tend to take longer owing to the volume of mail in the system. Please order well in advance for Christmas. Our current advice is that the last shipping date for the UK is 19th December 2012, Europe 11th December, USA 11th December, Australasia 4th December. We hope this information will help you plan your Christmas shopping and avoid disappointment. All delivery times are estimates as given by the Royal Mail.

Caravela Jewellery reserves the right to vary or alter these terms and services at any time without prior notice.

RETURNS

If, once you have received your order, you find it does not meet your expectations or even if you simply change your mind, you can return it for a full refund if you do so within 7 working days of receipt. Under these circumstances, simply email us as soon as possible to advise us you wish to return your item. Items must be returned unworn with the original packaging, and we recommend obtaining proof of postage, or sending by recorded delivery as we cannot make refunds for goods not received back. The costs of returns postage is normally borne by the sender unless the item is faulty (see below). For reasons of hygiene, refunds cannot be made for earrings for pierced ears or for necklace sets containing earrings unless they are faulty.

If a fault arises after 7 working days have elapsed, which are clearly due to defective materials or workmanship, please contact us immediately the fault is discovered and we can discuss with you the appropriate course of action. We take every precaution and make every effort possible to ensure that the goods we sell are of the highest quality and fit for purpose, but in the unlikely event that quality issues do arise after purchase, we would appreciate you letting us know as soon as possible. Please note that we cannot make refunds for faults arising from customer misuse, negligence or normal wear and tear. If it is necessary for you to return a faulty item, we will refund the postal cost of the return.
